Now in its fifth year, the program has offered local school-leavers the unique chance to make a start on their working lives with training in their field of choice with Cowra council for a full year.
Cowra Council is seeking a highly enthusiastic and suitable applicant to fill a Trainee position within Council's Parks & Gardens Section.
This position undertakes labouring duties associated with the maintenance of our Park & Gardens.
Duties include, but not limited to, mowing, snipping, brush cutting, mulching and weeding, turf preparation, irrigation work , spraying , planting and tree maintenance, as well as the operation of small plant and equipment associated with the role.
The successful applicants must be physically fit, have an understanding of the importance of WHS. We are looking for a reliable and motivated candidate with a ‘can do’ work ethic and ability to work positively within a team.
The successful applicant will undertake a Certificate II in Horticulture.
This twelve month traineeship starts in February 2018 through to February 2019 with all study completed through TAFE NSW.
