About the Role

Cowra Council is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to fill the position of Team Leader - Arborist within our Parks & Gardens Section.

Primarily responsible in assisting the Parks & Gardens Section to operate in an effective and efficient manner by overseeing the day to day operations and activities of the tree team to ensure the maintenance of public garden facilities and parklands meet adopted standards and are within financial limits.

Reporting directly to the Supervisor - Park & Gardens, the successful applicant will oversee all arboriculture activities, including tree control, tree identification, pests and disease in trees and decision as to tree replacement and demolition.

Applicants must possess Arborist/Horticulture qualifications, current MR Driver Licence, Chainsaw Operations Certificate Level II and have demonstrated relevant industry experience with an ability to operate plant and machinery associated with the role.

The successful applicant should be physically fit and understand the importance of WHS and EEO. A ‘can do’ work ethic, strong organisasional skills and ability to work positively within a team are essential.
